President and Secretary-General Meet with Ummat Association Members in Turkey to Discuss Challenges and Support for Gaza

In a significant gathering, Sheikh Ali Al-Qaradaghi, the President of the Union, and Sheikh Ali, the General Secretary, met with members of the International Union of Muslim Scholars in Turkey. They were warmly welcomed by Sheikh Abdul Wahab Aykinci, the President of the Ummat Association in Turkey, who highlighted the critical nature of the meeting and expressed hope for its fruitful outcomes.

During the meeting, the President of the Union outlined the Union's progress and initiatives, encouraging a dialogue on the Union's issues, including its enhanced role amidst current challenges and strategies for supporting Gaza and its inhabitants. He emphasized the vital need to leverage the Union's resources and integrate scholars actively in these efforts.

Participants proposed several actionable ideas, such as organizing monthly meetings to tackle broad issues, emphasizing the need for continued support to the brethren in Gaza through activities and fundraising, and utilizing social media to disseminate Islamic values and promote substantive content.

A special recommendation was made for the creation of a Gaza support committee, akin to the Jerusalem committee, and an appeal to honor the commitment to visit Gaza. This underscored the Union's pivotal role as a primary reference for the Muslim community.

The discussions also ventured into practical measures, suggesting the development of long-term strategies to bolster the nation and amplify the societal influence of scholars.

The assembly agreed on the importance of synchronizing efforts and establishing regular engagements to welcome new scholars, suggesting the formation of international committees of scholars dedicated to the nation's betterment.

Highlighting the reformative potential of scholars, the meeting stressed their crucial role in advising and guiding political leaders, thus fostering national improvement.

Moreover, the Union's critical function in issuing fatwas and promoting authentic Islamic principles to counter the prevailing cultural and intellectual challenges was reiterated.
