International Union of Muslim Scholars

Scientific mission, curriculum, independent position of vision and attitude

The scholars are the heirs of the prophets, and they have the burden of teaching and guiding the Muslim nation, and the Holy Qur'an has explained their exquisite role in the nation's vows and its jurisprudence, and the statement of the right in what is offered to it as vividly explained through the words of Allah the Almighty “Yet it is not right for all the believers to go out i.e.(to battle) together out of each community, a group should go out to gain an understanding of the religion, so that they can teach their people when they return and so that they can guard themselves against evil”[1]. He also urged the Muslim nation to revert to those in the position of knowing, concerning issues that are beyond their knowledge and understanding, as He the Almighty has said, “if you do not know, ask people who know the Scripture”[2].

Since the gathering is one of the most important things that was called upon for by Islamic law, and it is also one of the greatest reasons for success and means of protection from slippery into mistakes.  Also, several scholars from various Islamic school of thought and Islamic group called to follow the middle path, and moderation to carry out this legitimate duty, and to fill this gap, by agreeing to form a body that brought together the scholars. United their word to preserve their job, of which God entrusted them with within the maintenance of religion in compliance with God’s messenger’s word where he said, “in every successive century those who are reliable authorities will preserve this knowledge, rejecting the changes made by extremists, the plagiarisms of those who make false claims for themselves, and the interpretations of the ignorant”[3].

It is crucial to comprehend that the International Union of Muslim Scholars is a legitimate, independent scientific institution that works to convey the message of Islam and guide Muslims to properly understand the provisions of their religion, by preserving the identity of the Muslim nation, spreading the philosophy moderation away from extremism and sacrificing the principles of the nation.  Toiling on the unity of the nation thereby increasing its effectiveness to the order of God which can be sum up as to develop the earth, highlighting the importance of achieving peaceful coexistence and rejecting violence, spreading a culture of tolerance and promoting the joint shared culture humanity and civilization.

To that end, the Union, therefore, has followed the assortment of direct educational discourse to reach these goals, includes correcting concepts, practices and attitudes per the teachings of Islam. Continuous propagating awareness and guidance of wisdom and kindness. Also, adherence to the approach of dialogue and cooperation with institutions and bodies which are actively working within this context, coupled with diligence and innovation in what needs to be done.

The Union, considering it as one body, comprising a large number of scholars of the Islamic nations across the globe, aims to reflect the position of scholars on important events and benefits that may arise in the world, and for that order, it has established for itself systematic determinants and parameters in which it maintains balance, objectivity, credibility and independence in what it produces, and ensures that it accepts a reference on which Muslims depend on in the moments and these limitations and parameters included:

 (a). The formation of a comprehensive scientific umbrella of reference to the nation without exclusion or discrimination, balanced in its relations with it, calling for peace and reconciliation, and for that reason, it has embraced various schools in its formation.

(b) Focus on correcting politics and behaviours, criticizing mistakes, avoiding the injury of bodies or persons, or engaging in undeclared intentions.

 (c) To renounce intolerance on racial, regional or doctrinal grounds, and to demonstrate the right per the values affirmed by the Islamic law of justice, fairness and impartiality, which are common values among nations and civilizations.

 (d) To indicate positions based on accurate perceptions, based on objective and scientific principles, including our religion, based on proof of quote, and taking into account the cases and circumstances.

(e). Adhering to the principles of Islam, and the purpose and missionary view

(f) To be responsible, objective and impartial, free from any bias or intolerance, and to be stripped of any affiliation that may affect the right position in which the nation's advice is.

 (g) Call for the reform of the same thing, resolve disputes with goodwill and to meet a word both, and has capable efforts to attest to reality.

 (h) Principled support for the right of peoples to reform, advancement and advancement, and to the freedom to express their positions, aspirations and grievances, within a peaceful and civilized framework that preserves public interests and civil peace and

(i).To ensure the maintenance of good relations and a spirit of cooperation with other societies, to take care of the general humanitarian affairs of the world, and to participate in helping people to achieve human dignity.

The Union, if it explained these limitations, which is in line with the command of Allah Almighty “You who believe, uphold justice and bear witness to God, even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or your close relatives. Whether the person is rich or poor, God can best take care of both. Refrain from following your own desire, so that you can act justly– if you distort or neglect justice, God is fully aware of what you do”[4] and in another verse when you speak, be just, even if it concerns a relative; keep any promises you make in God’s name. This is what He commands you to do, so that you may take heed”[5].

Furthermore, the Union asserts that it is an independent legitimate scientific body that cannot be reduced to a political party, group, religious sect or State, as outlined in its General Charter, its body in its systematic policies, its statements and the positions it has taken throughout its career to date.

In conclusion, the Union, while expressing its thanks and appreciation to all the countries that dealt with it positively and legally, especially at the stages of its establishment and launch, such as Britain, Northern Ireland, Qatar, Turkey, Tunisia and Malaysia. This confirms the aspiration of the Union and its readiness to deal and cooperate with all countries and organizations, especially Islamic countries and institutions.
