Union and Uzbekistan's Muslim administration agree to enhance cooperation with MOU

This morning, the Secretary-General of the Union, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, welcomed a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Dr. Uygun Ghafurov, Deputy Head of the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan, accompanied by Dr. Jasur Najmuddin Ov, Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the existing friendship and cooperation relations between the two institutions, as well as ways to develop and strengthen them across various fields. Both parties agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions and organize training courses for Uzbekistani scholars, including a course on "Al-Mizan Fiqh" presented by Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi.

In addition, the two sides agreed to collaborate, promote the values of Islam, serve the Ummah, and reject all forms of extremism, terrorism, fanaticism, and insult to Islamic sanctities. Finally, the delegation presented a commemorative gift, a picture of the "Boraq-Khan School in Tashkent," which served as the headquarters of the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan during the Soviet Union's rule.

It is noteworthy that the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan was established in 1943 and is responsible for the affairs of Muslims in the country, providing a safe environment for them to perform their religious rituals.
