He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic law with a specialization in the principles of jurisprudence and has held important positions in the Somali government in previous years. Mohamed Hajj is considered one of the well-known Muslim scholars in the field of scientific research and modern Islamic thought, having participated in many international conferences and seminars.
