The International Union of Muslim Scholars:
Considers the storming of Al-Shifa Hospital and the killing of patients and innocents a Nazi and inhumane crime, which adds to the dozens of crimes and massacres committed by the Zionist occupation.
It addresses the leaders of the Arab and Islamic countries and the free people of the world: Have all these crimes not moved you to do something for your brothers in proud Gaza?
And demands immediate and exceptional measures.
The Union strongly condemns and denounces the barbaric attack carried out by Israeli occupation forces on Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the storming of the hospital and targeting it with live fire and the explosion of doors and walls, leading to panic among the patients who rely on this vital health facility.
These events reflect a terrible disregard for the lives of innocents and the continuation of an occupation targeting the medical and civil infrastructure in Gaza. The assault on medical facilities and terrorizing of patients constitutes a blatant violation of all divine laws and humanitarian laws.
The Union strongly demands an immediate halt to this brutal attack on the hospital and ensures the safety of patients, medical staff, and displaced persons therein. We also call on the international community to take urgent action to stop the aggression and this dangerous escalation, and we call for the accountability of the responsible leaders of the occupying Zionist entity and their accomplices.
In this context, the Union strongly condemns the cutting off of electricity, internet, and communications from the hospital, and we demand the immediate restoration of these services to ensure the continued provision of necessary health care to patients.
In addition, the Union emphasizes the importance of taking immediate and exceptional measures to stop the Zionist aggression on the people of Gaza. This aggression can only be stopped through an unconventional and effective movement.
Therefore, the Union strongly suggests forming an Islamic popular initiative led by a committee consisting of scholars, thinkers, and leaders of opinion and politics from various Islamic countries. This committee should travel and make visits to countries that stand with the Palestinian cause.
The Union calls for forming a strong alliance to counter the Zionist aggression, to prevent the exacerbation of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
