The IUMS extends its congratulations to the Islamic nation on the occasion of the new Hijri year 1445 AH

The International Union of Muslim Scholars - with all its apparatuses, affiliates, and members - is pleased to extend its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Islamic nation, on the occasion of the great and joyful historical event that is ingrained in the hearts and minds of Muslims, the "New Hijri Year". We ask the Almighty to make it a year of goodness and blessings, and to bring it back to our nation while enjoying happiness, stability, and prosperity.

The Union emphasizes the following:

  • The Prophet's migration - a glorious memory - has great significance in Islamic and human history. It refers to an event that affected the Islamic nation, transforming the lives of Muslims. This transformation is embodied in the Prophet's ﷺ migration from Mecca to Medina.

  • The memory of the New Hijri Year 1444 AH reminds us of the sacrifices of the Prophet ﷺ, his pure family, and his noble companions, both Muhajirun and Ansar (may Allah be pleased with them). It is an eternal migration characterized by struggle, intention, and a pure heart; it involves turning away from sins and desires, uniting hearts, fostering brotherhood, preferring others over oneself, reforming souls, and harmonizing hearts to achieve what Allah has said: "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." [Al-Imran: 110].

  • "The Prophet's Migration" is an opportunity for reflection on the enormous sacrifices made by the Prophet ﷺ, his family, and his noble companions for the sake of Allah, to spread the message of Islam, establish justice, lay the foundations of the first Islamic state, which continued to evolve and expand over the ages. It's a chance to draw inspiration from these great stories to gather strength and courage to face contemporary challenges and build a better future for our nation.

  • The World Union of Muslim Scholars invites its noble nation to revive this great occasion with a spirit of determination and reflection on the meanings and virtues of the migration, striving to build strong and prosperous Islamic societies that contribute to serving humanity, unity, cooperation, spreading justice, peace, tolerance, and promoting the generous values of Islam in the world.

May God guide us all to what He loves and is pleased with. Happy New Year to all.
