Istanbul, Turkey - The International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) continues to lead the way in providing aid and assistance to those affected by disasters around the world. In collaboration with the relevant authorities in affected countries, a delegation from the IUMS visited the center of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in Turkey to provide support to those affected by the recent earthquake.
During their visit, the head of the center informed the delegation that the response to the disaster from the Turkish people and Muslim communities had been incredibly strong. He cited examples such as a woman who sold her cow to donate the proceeds to the needy, young children who donated their daily allowance, and businessmen who supported charitable projects with their funds.
