Al-Qaradaghi participates in an international online Webinar on the occasion of the "Al-Quds Global Week"

The Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Ali al-Qaradaghi, participated in an international online Webinar held as part of the " Al-Quds  Global  Week " events on Thursday, February 16, 2023. His Eminence emphasized the necessity of solidarity and cooperation among Muslims in facing crises. He also pointed out that the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria carried a real significance, as it affirmed that everyone in this nation is like one body. His Eminence called for support to those affected by the earthquake and for the support of the Palestinian cause. He highlighted the danger facing the Islamic holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, and called on everyone to cooperate and work together in these difficult times.

It is worth noting that this conference was held as part of the " Al-Quds  Global  Week " events, amidst the exceptional circumstances that Turkey and Syria are going through due to the devastating earthquake. The event was presented by Sheikh Nour al-Din Lameri, the President of the Algerian Association of the Elite, and Dr. Nawaf Takrouri also spoke at the event, stressing the continuation of the week's programs and expressing sympathy with the earthquake victims.

Other speakers at the Webinar included Dr. Hammam Said, the head of the Global Coalition in Support of Jerusalem and Palestine, the researcher and advisor on occupied Jerusalem affairs, Sheikh Mokhles Barzak, as well as Dr. Wafy Ashour, a member of the Association of Sunni Scholars. Aisha Um Adnan also gave a speech on behalf of the Global Support for the Ummah, emphasizing the need for unified efforts to support Palestine and to educate the younger generation on the liberation of Palestine.

The Webinar also featured speeches from Dr. Jalal Mohammed Saleh, the head of the Eritrean Scholars Council, Dr. Abdel Samad Fathi, the head of the Moroccan Association for the Support of Ummah Issues, and Dr. Ahmed Youssef, a member of the Malaysian Scholars Association.

At the end of the conference, there was a symbolic tribute to the "Person of the Year," which was posthumously awarded to the late scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
