The Union warns the conflicting parties in the 'Ain Al-Hilweh' Palestinian refugee camp against shedding innocent blood

With deep sorrow and concern, the International Union of Muslim Scholars is closely monitoring the situation in the "Ain Al-Hilweh" Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon, south of Lebanon, where armed clashes are taking place. This camp, suffering from extreme poverty and witnessing widespread displacement within and outside its boundaries, is also experiencing tensions and conflicts that exacerbate the humanitarian situation, violating human rights and the continued suffering of its inhabitants.

In light of these grievances and stemming from the Union's responsibility and concern, the following points are emphasized:

1. We call on all concerned parties within the camp and in the surrounding areas to stop the bloodshed, assume their responsibilities, put an end to violent or armed military actions, find peaceful solutions to persistent disagreements, and avoid being dragged into further conflicts that lead to more destruction, poverty, and suffering.

2. We call on Arab and Islamic governments, the international community, and relevant humanitarian entities to urgently intervene to provide necessary assistance and support to the affected and displaced in the camp, ensuring capabilities to achieve stability, peace, and peaceful coexistence while preserving the lives and dignity of people.

3. We warn all brethren against the shedding of innocent blood.

Allah says: "But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment." (Surah An-Nisa: 93).

Allah also says: "And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason." (Surah Al-An'am: 151).

Furthermore, Allah says: "The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy." (Surah Al-Hujurat: 10).

On the authority of Abdullah bin Masud, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Insulting a Muslim is wickedness, and fighting him is disbelief." (Reported by Bukhari).

From Abu Bakra, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said during his sermon on the Day of Sacrifice in Mina, during his farewell pilgrimage: "Indeed, your blood, property, and honor are as sacred among you as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Have I conveyed the message?" (Agreed upon).

From Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Every Muslim's life, honor, and property are sacred to another Muslim." (Reported by Muslim).
