IUMS strongly expresses its vehement condemnation of the cowardly bombing that targeted a political gathering of members of the Pakistan Scholars of Islam Association in the town of Khaar, Bajaur province, Khyber region in the north-west of the country.
The Union fully stands in solidarity with Pakistan - its government and people - and conveys its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the families and relatives of the victims, with great sadness and sorrow.
The Union asserts the following:-
The incident, which claimed the lives of many innocent people and left many others seriously injured, is a heinous criminal act forbidden by heavenly laws and poses a grave threat to security and stability.
We affirm our steadfast position against violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons, and that such an attack is an act strictly forbidden by Islamic law and is one of the most grave sins.
We also reaffirm our strong support for efforts to combat terrorism and violence in all its forms, and we call on the international community to cooperate and unite in order to put an end to these abhorrent terrorist acts and ensure security and peace for all peoples.
In conclusion, we pray to Allah to protect Pakistan and to prevail peace and stability in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and all over the world.
Allah says: "Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely." (Quran, Surah Al-Ma'idah: 32).
