Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman Extends Support to President of Uganda in Combating Sexual Deviation, Criticizes International Campaign

The Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman and Deputy Chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Khalili, has expressed his wholehearted support for the President of Uganda in his efforts to combat sexual deviation and impose stricter penalties. He underscores his alignment with natural inclinations, emphasizing the importance of upholding morality and preserving the integrity of human sexuality.

The Mufti views the ongoing international campaign against the President of Uganda as nothing more than a brazen attempt to promote debauchery while waging war against virtuous principles, thus contradicting the innate disposition that Allah has instilled in humanity.

He firmly asserts that this campaign represents a blatant assault on human sexuality and a violation of its sanctity, aiming to erode the very existence of humanity on Earth.

Furthermore, the Mufti emphasizes that individuals with a sound nature are fully aware of this reality and, therefore, strongly denounce such reprehensible actions, irrespective of gender or age.

He further highlights that it is the responsibility of all those who cherish virtue and seek the betterment of humanity to rally behind the Ugandan people and their courageous leader, supporting their unwavering stance against this campaign.

The International Union of Muslim Scholars has unequivocally stated that the three divine religions (Islam, Christianity, and Judaism) are in unanimous agreement in categorically prohibiting sexual deviation, specifically homosexuality, as it contravenes the natural disposition and the preservation of human sexuality.

The Union vehemently denounces any despotic attempts to enforce such practices upon the peoples of the world.

Moreover, the Union highlights the grave concerns surrounding ongoing zealous efforts aimed at social and legal normalization of vile sexual deviation, including same-sex marriage and same-sex parenting. These endeavors pose significant existential and civilizational risks that have long been cautioned against by esteemed scholars and intellectuals.

In recent news, Uganda has passed a law officially criminalizing same-sex relationships and the promotion of homosexuality within the country. President Yoweri Museveni made the announcement via the official Ugandan Presidency's account. The law, which will take effect in 2023, imposes stringent penalties for engaging in homosexual activities. The bill underwent thorough discussion and voting in parliament on March 21, generating considerable controversy and condemnation in Western countries.
