In the strongest terms, the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) condemns and denounces the Swedish Authorities' Permission to burning of a copy of the Holy Qur'an, and calls on Islamic governments to defend the sanctities of the Islamic nation, among which the Holy Qur'an is the greatest, by summoning Swedish ambassadors, demanding apologies, and taking appropriate action, in addition to ,IUMS appreciates the denunciation and measures taken by some Arab and Islamic countries.
IUMS affirms that this cowardly attempt does not undermine the greatness of the Holy Qur’an and its spread among the wise people of the world, but rather reflects buried hatred.
IUMS also affirms that this attempts is not new, but was preceded by other attempts to undermine the sanctities of Islam: its Quran and Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace - and spread fear of Islam, racism and hateful chauvinism against Muslims.
In this regard, the IUMS warns that these behaviors will have disastrous effects on integration, cultural diversity, and human rights, and it seems that Europe has forgotten two world wars that erupted in the first half of the twentieth century because of racism and arrogance.
