Palestine: Israeli forces shoot dead 2 Palestinian youths in Nablus, Jenin

NABLUS, Palestine (AA): Israeli forces killed a Palestinian youth Wednesday in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. On Monday, Israeli soldiers killed one Palestinian youth and injured at least five in Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Sixteen-year-old Ahmad Shehada died from a bullet wound that pierced his heart as Israeli troops opened fire during a raid on the city, the ministry said in a statement.

Clashes broke out between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians as the latter were trying to prevent Israeli troops from carrying out the raid, and five Palestinians were injured, it added. One of them is in critical condition.

Emergency personnel of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society told Anadolu Agency that Israeli opened fire on health workers who were soldiers taking care of the wounded.

Dozens of others suffocation from tear gas shelling by the Israeli forces, they noted.

Moreover, eyewitnesses said as Israeli settlers stormed Joseph’s Tomb, a large military unit accompanied by military bulldozers entered Nablus to protect settlers.

Joseph’s Tomb has long been a flashpoint for violence.

Jews believe the site to be the burial place of the biblical patriarch Joseph. Muslims, however, challenge this claim, saying an Islamic cleric – Sheikh Yusuf Dawiqat – was buried at the site two centuries ago

Meanwhile, on Monday, Israeli soldiers killed one Palestinian and injured at least five in Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that Mahmoud Abdul-Jalil Sa’adi, 17, has died from serious wounds he suffered after the soldiers shot him in the abdomen.

The Health Ministry also said the soldiers shot five Palestinians; two of them were shot in the chest, one in the abdomen, and another Palestinian in the shoulder, in addition to one who was shot in the leg.

Palestinian medics rushed to the area and moved the wounded to Jenin governmental hospital despite being attacked by the soldiers who tried to prevent them from reaching the invaded area.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said Mahmoud was a high school student at a local school in Jenin.

With the Israeli killing of Shehada, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces rises to 200, including 57 minors, according to reports by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
