Praise be to Allah, and peace and prayers be upon the Final messenger of Allah; Mohammed and after:
At a time when Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is under attack of incorrect accusations, the IUMS is standing with this world's largest Islamic religious scientific institution and the third oldest university in the world after the universities of Zaytuna and Qarawiyin.
And it is Al-Azhar Al-Sharif since the Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi convert it to, the fortress of Islam and Muslims, and a fortified fortress of defenses against the enemies of Islam, against excess and negligence and serves as a reference for Muslims and a reference to Muslims, and hundreds of thousands have graduated from it who have published the Islamic sciences and Islamic preachers throughout history, a global Islamic radiation center that benefited the whole world.
The follower of the history of Al-Azhar has not lost sight of the fact that it played a major role in inciting national liberation movements in Egypt in ancient and modern times. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and its men have fed national revolutions with their speeches, writings and leaders, leaving an effective influence on the formation of revolutionary figures.
Al-Azhar played a role in protecting the Arab-Islamic cultural identity, defending the values of moderation in Islamic thought, spreading the legal sciences and the Arabic language, and addressing the trends of extremism and extremism that deviate from the true religion and deviate from the truth and the right.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif derives its supreme value and prestige from the true belief that it condemns and disseminates, and teaches it to the generations inside and outside Egypt, the doctrine of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'a, which promotes unity, harmony, cooperation.
What Al-Azhar is exposed to today is an unethical attack on the grounds that it is spawning terrorism in order to undermine its role and misguidance, which is not accepted by a conscious Muslim in the role of Al-Azhar in disseminating central Islamic science and thought. Throughout history, Al-Azhar has never played a role in spreading terrorism-related thought. It has been a lifelong protector of the Islamic nation from the jurisprudence of some of them who have the intensity of the offer or the ability to deal with the capacity of opinion and flexibility in the absorption of ideas and discuss and correct its direction.
We may agree or disagree with the al-Azhar sheikhs, but Al-Azhar itself as a scientific, global and Islamic institution that we respect, and we turn to it with advice and opinion, without prejudice to the status of Al-Azhar.
Based on the above, the IUMS has been greatly hurt with these unjust attacks on Al-Azhar, which is in fact an attack on the Islamic principles adopted by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, both ancient and modern, and defended by its men, and stood a barrier to the oppressors and the extreme and the excesses and the invaders.
While the Union stands with all its scholars and institutions in the world with Al-Azhar and its principles, it calls on the leaders of Al-Azhar to adopt a review of what happened in Egypt, and raised some of them with injustice.
May Allah bring success to the right and guidance
