IUMS mourns Dr. Sheikh Mekki Hussein Hamdan al-Kubaisi, who passed away today before the Fajr in a hospital in the city of Arbil in northern Iraq, where he was lying in due to an illness. And we pray to the deceased the mercy and forgiveness and for the people and loved ones patience and solace and serenity.
The deceased (may Allah have mercy on him) was an Islamic preacher, and a modern scholars in Iraq, and an Islamic preacher of the city of Fallujah, the most prominent, and the originator of the Association of Muslim Scholars and a member of the general secretariat until 2008.
The deceased worked as Imam and Islamic preacher in the city of Fallujah, for many years, then a professor at the College of Great Imam until his death, and held several management positions in it, and supervised many graduate students there and in others, and discussed many of the theses, and puts his efforts in the dissemination of science.
To ALLAH we belong, and to Him is our return.
