IUMS mourns Iraqi guide Taha Jabir al-Alwani, a prominent Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) in America
We have received with hearts full of satisfaction with Allah’s will, the death news of our brother Sheikh Dr. Taha Jabir al-Alwani, on Friday morning, and the deceased is considered a prominent Islamic jurisprudence(Fiqh) in America and president of Cortoba Islamic University in the United States, where it is expected to transfer his body to his hometown for the disappeared rest.
The al-Alwani, who was born in 1935 in Iraq, president of the jurisprudence (Fiqh) Council of America since 1988, and president of the University of Islamic and Social Sciences (SISS) Bherndn, Virginia, United States, and holds a doctorate in jurisprudence(Fiqh) from the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al Azhar University in Cairo in 1973.
Al-Alwani served, a professor of jurisprudence(Fiqh) at the University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since 1975 until 1985.
Al-Alwani participated in 1981 in the founding of International Institute of Islamic Thought in the United States, also was a member of the Foundation Board of the Muslim World League in Mecca, and a member of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in Jeddah.
The most important of his works; may Allah rest his soul, "diligence and tradition in Islam, literature difference in Islam, and the assets of Islamic jurisprudence: curriculum research and knowledge, and the Islamization of knowledge between yesterday and today, and the crisis of intellectual and platforms of change ...".
With his death the Islamic nation has lost one of the scholars, ask Allah Almighty to forgive him, and bless his soul mercy wide, forgive him and grant him the best reward, honors and honorable, and expands resting place, and enter paradise, and hailing him the most of His pleasure and mercy, and put him in the Day of Resurrection in Alaliyn with who blessed them from the prophets and saints and martyrs and the righteous, and that inspires his family, and his family, and loved ones, and his colleagues, and his students patience and fortitude.
