Sheikh Ahmed Al-Khalili Warns of the Flaws in Western Democracy and Points to Its Encouragement of Immoral Freedoms

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman and the Vice President of the World Union of Muslim Scholars, stated that many in the nation have been enticed by the idea of Western democracy, considering it the highest level of political and social order.

In a tweet on his account on the platform (X), Al-Khalili added that the flaws in this approach have begun to emerge, as the so-called freedom is limited to immoral actions such as nudity, sexual deviance, and the burning of the Quran.

He noted that true values, such as promoting justice and supporting the oppressed, do not receive the same attention. He cited the ongoing events in Western universities as evidence of this view, where criticisms are presented dubiously, and critics are accused of being backward.

Al-Khalili continued by saying that the West itself has begun to discover the negatives of its system, and that the alleged freedoms do not exceed moral boundaries, while basic human values are sacrificed.

He concluded his tweet by emphasizing the need to discern falsehood and enhance truth and support for the oppressed, asserting that current events in Western universities confirm the validity of these points.
