IUMS offers condolences to the families of Reyhanli victims, condemns sinful act
All praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, God’s messenger, and upon his family companions and followers;
It has been and continues to be a source of enormous pain for us to see the massacres, deaths and destruction in their worst form as the army of the arrogant ruling regime and its aides use advanced, lethal weapons against our brothers and sisters in Syria on a daily basis while the world stands as a motionless spectator before these crimes. All of this not being sufficient, that same regime has extended its desires to spill its evils over the Turkish people.
Here at the International Union of Muslim Scholars, we have been anguished to see the scenes of killing and destruction in the aftermath of the unjust, cowardly bombing that targeted innocent inhabitants of the Reyhanli region in fellow Turkey, a bombing that left dozens innocent souls either dead or wounded for committing no crime other than providing refuge to their brethren in religion and giving solace to their neighbors who were displaced by the oppressive Syrian regime in its war against its people.
As we condemn this sinful bombing, and equally condemn the war waged by the oppressive Syrian regime against its people, we express our most sincere words of empathy and solace to our fellows in the Turkish town of Reyhanli and all the valued Turkish people who refused to fail their brothers and neighbors at a time of hardship and adversity and we call to Allah Almighty to accept the dead in His mercy, provide good solace to the noble people of Reyhanli, and grant speedy recovery to their wounded.
We also call on all Arabs and Muslims and free people all over the world to exert serious efforts to assist the Free Syrian Army defending its people with their limited weaponry in order to end the tragedy of the perseverant Syrian people being stabbed by the tyrannical machine in return for rising up to their freedom and dignity.
The union seizes the opportunity to remind our brothers in Syria, the victims of the tyrannical regime, to hold on to patience and unity, to be true to Allah, for victory comes with patience, and relief comes after distress, and {God will certainly aid those who aid his (cause); for verily God is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will).} [Quran 22:40].
And from Allah is all assistance!
