IUMS Secretary General to coup perpetrators: restore responsibility to its trustees, reminds media to adhere to honesty
To the coup collaborators:
After you failed to protect protesters in the grand massacre and holocaust, failed to protect mosques, churches, institutions and facilities, failed to protect detainees and prisoners in Abu Zaabal prison, failed to protect the police and rankers in Sinai, distorted the image of a civilized Egypt, violated all sanctities, and did all you have done to the security of the country and its citizens, we plead to you by Allah, by the kinship, and the interests of Egypt to leave and deliver the responsibility to its entrusted people, and suffice with the bloodshed, destruction, displacement, torture and killing. Have you not had enough of these rivers of the blood of children, women, seniors, and peaceful civilians in prayer?
I address a message to the media personalities who forged realities, and blinded people: be watchful of Allah, for the word is a grand responsibility tied to your shoulders, as you are questionable for it before Allah and history. So say the truth, even if against yourselves (And do people get thrown on their faces into Hell except on account of their tongues?) [At-Tirmidhi]. An honest word is like a good tree, and a malicious word is like a malicious tree that leads to seditions that you hold the responsibility for. So I plead to you by Allah at this critical stage to stand for the truthful testimony for the sake of Allah as He - Exalted Be – said { O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for God, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, God is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed God is ever, with what you do, Acquainted. } [Quran 4: 135].
My third message is to the wise leaders, scholars of Egypt and scholars of the honorable Al-Azhar to fulfill their duty of working toward a dignified reconciliation and to echo the truth loudly fearing no blame from a critic but considering Allah who praised those who {[God praises] those who convey the messages of God and fear Him and do not fear anyone but God. And sufficient is God as Accountant.} [Quran 33:39].
I bear witness that what happened is a par excellence bloody military coup against the legitimate authority and that it is an armed rebellion against a legitimate, elected ruler that is not permissible according to the Quran, the prophet’s tradition and scholarly consensus. In this sense, it is an act of betrayal to Allah, to the Prophet, then to the Egyptian people who elected a president then approved the constitution by a two-third majority. And one can but wonder at how the head of the constitutional court - which was established to protect the constitution – would turn against the constitution!
In addition, all the incidents of bloody massacres and oppressive measures are a decisive evidence for all observers that it is a more disastrous return of the Mubarak regime that has even far exceeded it. Hence, this false move can only be remedied by the return to the rights and legitimacy by implementing the initiative proposed by Dr. Al-Awwa and the International Union of Muslim Scholars through taking the following steps:
1- The army’s annulment of the coup, ending the bloodshed, selecting "a council of elders” made up of independent, reasonable figures who are the owners of the constitutional initiative put forward by Dr. Mohamed Saleem Al-Awwa, Chancellor Tareq Al-Bishri, Dr. Hassan Al-Shafei and others.
2- The honorable release of the president-elect, and the release of all prisoners since July 3rd, to the present time.
3- Launching comprehensive dialogue between all opposing groups, parties, and ideological streams to reach a return to democracy.
4- Forming a coalition government to start the procedure of parliamentary elections, or elections for the parliament and the presidency based on a consensual decision.
Conclusively, a Muslim, or rather any human with a living conscience, can only severely condemn all these massacres, manslaughters, holocausts, random arrests, violations of all the sanctities of people, mosques, churches and others particularly the latest murder of detainees in prison cells and during deportation.
By God, our hearts burn, our eyes shed tears, our skin shivers, our souls loathe, and our minds become shaky and distraught at seeing those scenes witnessed in our great, beloved Egypt, the land of civilizations. What has come over that country and how can an Egyptian Muslim kill their peaceful fellowman who calls for the rights and defends the freedom and democracy of Egypt in such a manner?
All these incidents were only meant to destroy Egypt, but Allah protects Egypt. They were meant to do the greatest service to the Zionists and their allies in the region who paid millions to buy weak souls spiteful of the moderate Islam, and spiteful of Egypt and wishing that it may never rise or become powerful but remain a subordinate to Israel and malevolent countries.
But let these tyrant traitors know that Allah will take revenge on them, {And never think that God is unaware of what the wrongdoers do.} [Quran 14: 42], and remember that { And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe. } [Quran 11: 102].
Finally we hold a firm belief that a dawn is soon to come, that injustice is to an end, that disbelief is plunging, and that the truth is victorious {And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take!} [Quran 26:227]
