IUMS condemns Kafr Batna massacre in Damascus
All praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, His messenger, and upon his family, companions and followers;
The world woke up Wednesday morning to news of a horrendous massacre that killed over 300 martyrs, apart from the young people, children, and women among Syrians who fell wounded. The massacre was carried out using poisonous gases, internationally-banned chemicals prohibited for use against armies not to mention civilians, women and children.
The union condemns this massacre committed by the murdering Syrian regime in an attempt to alleviate the pressure on the coup-allotted regime in Egypt and distract attention from the massacres committed against the Egyptian people in protest arenas, in places of worship, and incarceration centers.
As we condemn this new massacre added to the record of the bloody Al-Assad regime, we ask Allah to accept those victims as martyrs and grant their families and their nation patience, generous reward, to give steadfastness to true strugglers who fight for the freedom and dignity of the Syrian people in all their shades, races, and religious and national affiliations, and to grant them soon victory and empowerment.
The IUMS views all those Arabs and Muslims who failed to defend the Syrian people and others who claim to speak for human rights as partners to the Syrian regime in all these massacres and views their hands as dirty with the blood of our Syrian brothers and sisters. The union thus calls the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to stand firmly against these horrendous massacres, and against the oppressive rulers who perpetrated them.
The union also calls Arab and Muslim nations to pressure their governments to work on ending this Syrian tragedy and the suffering of this perseverant, unwavering people and to devote all their powers to supporting the Syrian fellow people who stand in defense of their dignity and that of the whole nation.
In addition, the union calls international organizations to withhold from applying double standards, and to adopt a fair stance from all these atrocious violations to prove their integrity before the people of the free world.
