IUMS calls Arab, Muslim world to intensify relief efforts to face flood results in Sudan

All praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, His messenger, and upon his family, companions and followers;

The International Union of Muslim Scholars has kept an eye on the consequences of the floods and inundations in Sudan that caused the demolition of thousands of houses, left a considerable number of people dead or wounded, and displaced tens of thousands of our Sudanese brothers who became homeless and without shelter, food or medication.

In light of this painful humanitarian situation, the union urges the Arab and Muslim nations, and relief agencies to fulfill their duties towards our afflicted brothers in Sudan and to meet our call of faith that made (The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, mercifulness, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.) and in response to God’s command for us to cooperate in good deeds: { And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression} [Quran 5:2], and in the verses: {O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good – that you may succeed.} [Quran 22: 77]. Prophet Muhammad had also reminded that (Whosoever relieves from a believer some grief pertaining to this world, Allah will relieve from him some grief on the Day of Judgment.) (narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Hence, we call all benevolent people, and charity organizations to immediately send aids to these afflicted people out of their obligatory and voluntary alms, endowments and so on as we all carry the responsibility before God Almighty especially if we fail to provide them with food, medication, and an appropriate shelter.

Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother!
