IUMS condemns arrest of Sheikh Raed Salah, breaking into Al-Aqsa Mosque, tunnel explosions under
In a flagrant challenge for the sentiments of Muslims all over the world, and a blatant violation of international conventions guaranteeing the sanctity of holy sites and freedom of worship, and in a context of Arab and Muslim preoccupation with Egypt, Syria and inter-conspiracies, the authorities of the Zionist occupation decided to close the Jalili Mosque for the praying public and workers on Thursday and Friday under claims of Zionist celebration of their festivals. This comes at a time when a group of settlers, headed by their rabbis, broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque, protected by Zionist occupation soldiers, and while our people in Palestine suffer conditions of arrests, demolition of houses, tightening the grip on them, in addition to the construction of settlements.
Meanwhile, Israeli courts issued a decision arresting Sheikh Raed Salah, an iconic figure of struggle, perseverance and defense of Al-Aqsa, who would be prevented from entering Jerusalem for a period of six months based on the decree.
The intensity of assault inside the Palestinian territories is accompanied by the continuing tight siege imposed by coup authorities in Egypt on Gaza as a number of homes and possessions located at the border area were detonated within the last few days.
In light of this situation, the IUMS addresses Arabs, Muslims and honorable people in the world that stand for freedom, human rights and believe in the sanctity of religions and sacred sites with what follows:
1-The union condemns all of these criminal acts carried out by the Zionists.
2-The union calls for complete alertness concerning the escalating acts of sabotage and terrorism practiced by the Zionist occupation forces under the full view of the world at a time when Israel claims to seek peace and work for its achievement.
3-The union pleads to all those who follow these news to exert their best efforts to defend the Palestinian rights, protect sanctities, and guarantee the freedom of worship.
4-The union warns all Arab and Muslim countries, as well as international organizations and agencies the outcome of disregarding the deterioration of the security situation and living conditions in Palestine in general, and Gaza and particular due to the incessant assault and continued siege. These conditions threaten to result in an extremely hazardous humanitarian situation, particularly for children.
5-The union calls compassionate people to devote their care and attention to our fellow Palestinians who suffer under the Israeli siege and the tightening Egyptian grip, especially sick people, women and senior citizens. We urge them to seek with all their available means to help these people escape the bottleneck and the siege they suffer and apply the reminders of Prophet Muhammad that (The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, mercifulness, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.)
